I am an avid gamer who has been gaming for 20 odd years since I was about eight or nine and I found a secondhand copy of MERP after Lord of the Rings, I quickly moved onto the likes of HeroQuest and similar games of the time before getting rather seriously involved with the whole Games Workshop range of games. Having now left those behind due to lack players (though I still have an 8000pt Empire army under my bed), I am moving onto to Flames of War (at 1:72 rather than the stock 15mm) and looking at trying out Saga (probably at 10-15mm rather than 28mm).
As well as wargames, I also got into RPGs and played a lot of AD&D and the White Wolf games of the 90’s (basically stopped updating around the time of Hunter). Unfortunately the necessity of multiple other people rather than just the one extra needed for wargaming has meant that I have basically entirely stopped playing RPG’s for now.
The third strand to my gaming obsession is computer gaming. While I have owned a few, I have never really been a console gamer beyond racing games and fighty games like Souldblade. PC gaming on the other hand – I will play pretty much any game that isn’t sport related. Primarily I am into FPS, RTS and RPG type games. The biggest sink of all was the few years I got into World of Warcraft and raided as a druid healer. Recently I have eased back on the PC gaming and currently play World of Tanks casually and occasionally shoot internet zombies with my boss in Call of Duty.
The name of the blog derives from a number of factors; my old Warhammer 40,000 army was a vehicle heavy Imperial Guard force (think WWII Soviet – lots of tanks + lots of infantry), my FoW force is British with a leaning towards Churchills and Cromwells; and, as the name implies my online gaming involves AFVs as well – so all in all my gaming at the moment is Mostly Tanks! 🙂
